“I can’t take a morning off work just to see a GP.”
“By the time I finish for the day, everything’s shut.”
“I need a sick note today. I can’t wait until next week.”
“Something’s come up and I’d rather be seen this evening than wait.”
Does this sound familiar? For many working professionals and busy families in Manchester and Cheshire, finding time to see a GP is the biggest challenge. Most clinics expect you to leave your own nine-to-five job, which just isn’t possible for everyone.
At Summerhill Health in Hale, our appointments are built for real working lives. We offer same-day slots for urgent needs, early-morning and evening appointments that fit your schedule, and an out-of-hours enquiry option so if you contact us late, we’ll see your message first thing the next day.
We’re open from 8am until 6pm. If you need an earlier or later appointment, just contact us, and we’ll make arrangements to see you.
Why So Many People Need a GP Outside 9-to-5
For senior professionals, business owners, and parents managing busy schedules, daytime appointments can be tough. You might have to move a meeting, lose half a day, have an awkward chat with your boss, or change your childcare plans. This often means health issues get put off, and small problems can turn into bigger ones.
Flexible appointments make a real difference. If you can see a GP before or after work, or on the same day you notice a symptom, you can sort things out while they’re still simple. This helps you focus on what matters and stay in charge of your health.
That is the thinking behind our appointment structure. Our opening hours respect how little spare time our patients actually have.
Every appointment is with Dr Natalie Summerhill (MBBS, RCGP 2015, DRCOG, DFSRH), who founded Summerhill Health in 2021. Her care is warm, thorough and unhurried: you are listened to carefully, treated with genuine empathy, and supported to make informed decisions about your own health. Fitting an appointment around your day should never mean settling for a rushed one.
“Dr Natalie was amazing, extremely caring and knowledgeable. I was able to get an appointment so quickly too.”

Appointment Types and Hours at Summerhill
We offer a range of appointment formats so you can choose the one that suits the concern and your day:
| Appointment type | Best for | How it works |
|---|---|---|
| Same-day appointment | New or urgent concerns that shouldn’t wait | Book online or by phone; we’ll find the earliest slot available that day |
| Early-morning appointment | Being seen before the working day begins | In person at our Hale clinic from 8am, with earlier slots by arrangement |
| Evening appointment | Being seen after work, without taking time off | In person at our Hale clinic until 6pm, with later slots by arrangement |
| Video consultation | Advice, follow-ups and prescription reviews from home or the office | Secure video link at a booked time |
| Home visit | When travelling to the clinic isn’t practical | By arrangement across Hale, Altrincham and the surrounding area |
Whichever format you choose, you see a GP who has time to listen. Appointments are unhurried, results turn around quickly, and there is real continuity, so you are known as a person rather than processed as a case.
What Can Be Covered in a Same-Day or Evening Appointment
Quite a lot more than people expect. An evening or same-day slot at Summerhill can cover most things you would see a GP about, including:
- Blood tests and health checks, with fast results turnaround
- Contraception advice, prescriptions and reviews
- Men’s health reviews, including erectile dysfunction and testosterone concerns
- Sick notes and medical certificates for work or study
- Prescription reviews and repeat medication
- Minor illnesses and infections, such as chest, throat, urinary or skin complaints
- General health concerns you have been meaning to get looked at
- Weight loss support, including our new weight loss injection service
- Sexual health questions and screening
- Travel health advice ahead of a trip
If a concern needs onward investigation or a specialist opinion, we can arrange the next step quickly rather than sending you back to the queue.
How the Out-of-Hours Enquiry Route Works
We’re not open 24 hours, but we know health worries don’t stick to office hours. If you contact us outside our opening times using the enquiry widget on our website, we’ll get your message right away and call you back the next morning, often before other clinics open.
So if you get in touch at 10pm, we can book you in first thing the next day. You’ll know someone has heard you, and we’ll have the details we need to find the right appointment for you.
In an emergency, always call 999, or 111 for urgent advice when we are closed. The out-of-hours enquiry route is for non-urgent concerns and next-day booking, not emergencies.
How to Book an Evening or Same-Day Appointment
There are three simple ways to book:
- Online. Use the booking widget on our website to see live availability and choose a same-day, early-morning or evening slot.
- By phone. Call us on 0161 552 2382 and we’ll find the earliest appointment that suits you.
- Contact form. Send an enquiry through our contact page, including outside opening hours, and we’ll call you back to book.
You don’t have to be an existing patient. For single-issue GP appointments, blood tests and contraception, you can book straight away without an initial consultation. We only need an initial consultation if you’re looking for longer-term or more complex care, so we can support you thoroughly.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to be a registered patient to book?
No. Summerhill Health is a private GP clinic, so there is no registration or catchment area. You can book as a new patient, and for health screenings and blood tests, GP consultations and contraception services you can go straight to a slot without an initial consultation.
Can I book on the same day?
Yes, subject to availability. Same-day appointments are a core part of what we offer, and the earlier in the day you get in touch, the more choice of slots you’ll have. Booking online shows you live availability in real time.
Do you offer evening and early-morning appointments?
Yes. We’re open from 8am until 6pm, so you can be seen before or after most working days. If you need an earlier or later slot, contact us and we’ll make arrangements.
Do you offer weekend appointments?
Yes. Saturday appointments are available by arrangement, so if a weekend slot works better for you, get in touch and we’ll do our best to fit you in. Weekday evening and same-day slots are available throughout the week too, and you can always send an enquiry through the contact form, and we’ll find the best option.
How quickly can I be seen?
Often the same day. If you contact us outside opening hours, we aim to call you back the next morning and book you in promptly from there. Urgent concerns are prioritised.
Can I get a sick note or medical certificate at an evening appointment?
Yes. Sick notes and private medical certificates can be issued during a standard GP appointment, including same-day and evening slots, once a GP has assessed you.
Can I be seen by video or at home?
Yes. Video consultations are available for advice, follow-ups and prescription reviews, and home visits can be arranged where travelling to the clinic isn’t practical.
