Who is Trucheck™ suitable for?

How often should I have the test?
Annual testing is recommended as part of your regular health screening. Since the test is non-invasive, there is no disadvantage to regular testing, and it can be incorporated into your annual health check process.
Do I need a doctor’s referral?
This test requires approval and prescription from a qualified healthcare professional. This involves an initial consultation to review your medical history and assess your suitability for the test.
Is the test suitable for someone who suspects they have cancer?
No. If you have symptoms or suspect you have cancer, you should seek urgent medical advice. Trucheck™ is specifically designed for healthy, asymptomatic individuals. Those with clinical or radiological suspicion of cancer should consult their GP immediately.
What preparation is needed before the Trucheck™ test?

What happens if something is detected?
If the test detects circulating tumour cells (CTC), Dr Summerhill will arrange a follow-up consultation to discuss the results in detail and explain the next steps, which may include further diagnostic testing.
What happens if my Trucheck™ test comes back inconclusive?
We know this can be distressing, and we will do our best to support you. The company, Datar, who oversee the Trucheck™ test, offer £1,000 to be reimbursed against a full body MRI, on receipt of the MRI report, which we can arrange for you (the total cost is around £1,500). Datar will then provide advice on a free follow-up check after three months.
What happens if my Trucheck™ test is positive for CTCs but the cancer site is inconclusive?
If your result shows circulating tumour cells but does not identify a clear site, you will receive £1,000 towards a full-body MRI. This is reimbursed once you share the scan report.
You will also be offered a free repeat Trucheck™ test or an organ-specific Trublood™ test, depending on what the scan shows, after three months.
How extensively has this test been validated?
The Trucheck™ technology is proprietary and has undergone extensive validation to meet the requirements for its CE IVD mark and various laboratory accreditations.
